I bought an iMac because I felt I wanted to get back into creating and have always wanted to have my own clothing brand. I worked at American Eagle Outfitters and I would get inspired by their graphic tees always thinking I could create my own tee shirts but never did. I have been messing around with graphic art since high school after taking a graphic design class and being introduced to photoshop. I never did anything with it after that but every now and then I would create something on it like a skin for my MySpace page.
I started sketching a few ideas this past month and I was inspired to draw a happy face with the letter H and G for the eyes. I thought of Happy Guy but in a sarcastic way since I am really trying to pursue something that makes me feel fulfilled and happy. So I drew the face and that led to me not knowing how to create a logo the right way. I took Chris DeloRenzo’s class on Skillshare, he is the main designer for Johnny Cupcakes brand.
Long story short, I had to get adobe illustrator and learn the basics and I started using the pen tool to draw the H and the G over the course of a couple of weeks.
This is my attempt at creating a logo and I called it Happy Guy. I put distress on it because I like things to look old and grungy.
