I reached out to Jeff to see if I could join him on some shoots to continue learning how to use the T3i Canon camera I have at home. He invited me to join Rolan and him for the cover shoot of the DVINO magazine for Laredo Morning Times. I was asked to shoot a bit a b-roll which one of the first times I heard the term. It’s the filler video that videographers use, at least that’s how I understand it.
The photoshoot took place at the Laredo Morning Times building/warehouse and it was pretty cool to be behind the scenes of how it all gets created.
I don’t know where I got the idea from but I wanted to take an unfocused shot of video and as the video starts we bring it into focus. Rolan made all the magic happen when he edited the behind the scenes video and used some of the video I took. The video is below, check it out.
