I added a lightpad to my creative tools and used it to start drawing patterns and new designs to turn into the new collection for happy guy clothing. I created a bit of content for Fourth of July with a happy spin on the Statue of Liberty.
The lightpad was an addition after I took some typography courses online and saw a hand lettering artist speed up their process with this to draw different versions of the font on top of each other. It kind of works like layers on adobe photoshop.
I scanned the image and recreated the pattern as a vector on illustrator. I’m still learning to vectorize graphics.
