It’s 11pm, you lay down for the night and reach for your phone to set an alarm.
There’s a notification on your locked screen that someone liked your post. A post from 3 days ago.
You don’t post often anymore but the social media app misses you. It’s dying to share the news that someone liked your post because it knows you need the “love”.
You click on the notification and a split second later you’re on the homescreen of this app being fed some news.
News”FEED” not news-worthy.
Most of this food is crap for your brain.
A “friend” who you met online is asking for what type of hairstyle they should get. Who cares. Another friend is posting a selfie of themselves with an empowering quote as the caption. For who? Whoever they feel is judging them, I suppose.
Who cares. Eat the food. By the way it’s a bottom-less buffet dish at a restaurant that is open 24/7. Stay and eat all you want. There is no finishing it. There is enough for everyone. INVITE friends over.
Scroll, scroll, scroll-it doesn’t end.
You’re 30 minutes into this. Stop. You can’t.
It’s now an hour. Your brain is bloated.
You crash out. The daylight wakes you up. You’re late for work.
You want seconds?
