It’s a Thursday morning.
THEIR REAL LIFE
10:36am: Your favorite social media influencer wakes up to pee and goes back to sleep.
1:01pm: Your favorite social media influencer wakes up for the day and has no real plan.
1:03pm: Your favorite social media influencer checks his Instagram post from last night.
It’s a photo of Steve Jobs’ garage in the 1980s with an overlayed quote “You don’t need an office. Just start anywhere.”
It got them 1k likes. Not bad for some recycled inspiration and a dopamine hit for the ego.
1:11pm – 7:06pm: Your favorite social media influencer jumps in and out of social media apps while you’re at work.
7:07pm – 8:00pm: Your favorite social media influencer gets on his CANVA app and types up “The early bird gets the worm.” on an image of some person that is not them sitting at their desk writing. Photo saved.
8:02pm: Your favorite social media influencer posts this photo for you and his followers to see.
3:06am: Your social media influencer crashes out after a grueling YouTube binge. You slept at 11pm since you have work the next day.
THEIR “REEL” LIFE & YOUR REAL LIFE
8:05pm: You come across your favorite social media’s influencer post and like it.
8:06pm: Your favorite social media influencer posts a video story of him turning off the light in their room with the caption “Lights out. Early bird gets the worm.”
3:01am: Your favorite social media influencer posts a video story with the caption “Ready for the Day! Let’s get it!”
7:36am: You wake up for work and see the post. You feel guilty for sleeping in.
Rinse. Repeat.
Don’t compare your real life with someone else’s highlight reel “life”.
