This was a promise I made and fulfilled.
I would paint the image of our Virgen de Guadalupe that appeared to St. Juan Diego in an 8 foot canvas for my mom’s annual celebration she has for la Virgen. Fr. Joe Cadena blessed the image at the celebration that was held on December 2, 2017.
Details on the process:
I made the canvas frame and stretched the canvas then gesso’d it. I used acrylic paint and it took me about a month to complete. This painting (I hope) will be in my family for generations to come.
I got my grandma’s reaction when she saw it for the first time.
