Our mindsets are like kites. There are different kinds but all of them are for practically the same purpose.
There are kite festivals were people go to fly their kites. A mindset festival on the other hand is daily life.
You show up to a kite festival one day and you may see someone’s kite all over the place. You want to go over and help them control it — you know… get it to glide with the wind. Same thing with daily life when you see someone’s mindset all over the place. The goal in both of these cases is for each person to control their own kite. No help necessary – you can’t have two people at the handle.
Unless it’s a kid, your kid maybe, whose mind you are shaping or kite you are flying.
Other than that – you can maybe teach the person how to fly their kite better but you can never fly it for them. Somedays you see all the kites gliding with the wind and at other times the wind is so turbulent it makes kites tangle up and not fly.
2020 was full of turbulence. Mindsets were all tangled up.
The saying is “go fly a kite…”
Yes, I will, thanks. I will fly mine and you should too.
