Set the Bar

“You gotta watch it!”

“Nah… I’ll pass.”

“Why?!”

“It doesn’t meet the bar.”

“What bar?”

“My bar for films.”

“What’s the bar?”

“It has to be based on real life—”

“Why?”

“Because if I want to live in a real world and at the same time be entertained by watching a film then at least I want it to be a story about the real world.”

“Oh—“

“Yeah. Jordan scored his last shot in 1998 — I think — and the thousands of fans that were at the game can tell me a different story about that day with each one of those stories revolving around the shot. I don’t want to watch films about make-believe worlds when I can be entertained with stories from real world events like Jordan taking his final shot as a Chicago Bull.”

“I get it now—“

“Where’s your bar?”
